A Tribute to Alexander McQueen:1969-2010

Alexander McQueen was a bad boy gone good, rising from London's couture house of Givenchy to his own label, becoming one of Brittan's best known and most celebrated designer. McQueen was named British Designer of the Year four times, and was worn by celebrities including Lady GaGa, Cate Blanchette and Kate Moss. The 40 year-old designer was found dead yesterday at his home in London, England. Just one week after his mother passed away.

In McQueen's early years he was described as a rebel and even a hooligan; but these traits were the secret to creating his name and success as a talented tailor and designer. His controversial start at Givenchy, with aggressive design and edgy collections, helped make his designs desirable in the industry.

Like his designs, he stood out. With his skin-head appearance and Doc Martens, his signature bad ass look helped him become a recognizable fashion icon. From unique feather wedding dresses to his bizarre shoe collection, his designs were worn by style icons everywhere. Today is about paying our respects to a world renowned, well respect designer. Rest in peace Alexander McQueen, may your legend live on.
